Cocktail finish in a hurry
I was still famished.
Dinner simple yet not set.
Broiled novels; old literature husk.
Sour ink; notes pasta.
With a glass of dictionary
To step down.
I took a chair, at the horn
Of my dining (writing) table
To dine, punning with words.
I forgot to toast the crumb
With figure of speech toaster.
Supper wasn’t palatable
But satisfied I end up
With this meal.
