NAKED WOMAN

a naked woman is an incantation

a priest pauses in this poem
to persuade you to break the bed
                                 or break the bond

a naked woman is a metaphor

a bed is a shrine
sanctified with the sacred sighs;
ululations to it that is god

a naked woman is a word

her breasts, synonyms for man’s pleasure;
thighs, plesionyms for his
                                    armrest

a naked woman is a song

a childhood song
you only remember you once sang
when your children sing it
