LESSONS FROM MY PREGNANCY JOURNEY: GOD IS INTERESTED IN EVERY BIT OF OUR LIFE

The first few months of pregnancy were challenging for me as I became conscious of my new condition. But as I continued to get further along, I discovered how much God cares about even the smallest details of our life. It is easy to feel helpless when you are pregnant and have no control over things like the weather or your health. When I discovered I was pregnant against my plan, I prayed some simple prayers. I recall telling God I don’t want to experience morning sickness nor did I want the pregnancy to be obvious too quickly. I also told God I do not want to have unnecessary cravings. I told him I do not want a pregnancy that will make me lazy. It was just as if I was giving God terms and conditions since He was the one who allowed me to be pregnant at the time, I got pregnant.

Interestingly, God answered those prayers even beyond my imagination. Yes, I craved but it was not out of control. I enjoyed good health throughout. Up until the day I was to deliver, I was still working. When people commend the strength I displayed despite being heavy, I will just smile and say, it is God. The journey was made easier than I had expected. While reminiscing over this journey, I concluded that there is no aspect of our lives that God is not interested in. He is interested in even the littlest things. Sometimes, He just wants us to feed Him in on our matters, He wants us to take our hands off and give Him full control. This is usually hard for us to do. Quite interesting, I didn’t pray those prayers fasting or prayed them for days. They were simple prayers said out of a sincere heart and He heard. Dear reader, God wants you to know that He is interested in every aspect of your life if only you will hand it off and give Him full control. This is the greatest lesson I learned during my pregnancy.
